I have been the Director of Hospice of Orleans since 1992. I am responsible for ensuring that we continue to provide quality care to our patients and their families and act as good stewards of the donations we so graciously receive from our community. It is a great privilege to work with such a caring staff and for such a worthwhile organization. |

As the Medical Director of Hospice of Orleans, I am responsible for the oversight of the medical care for patients admitted to hospice. I can also act as a liaison and/or consultant for the patient's Primary MD, and am available to make home visits when necessary if the patient's own doctor is unable to do so. I was happy to become the Medical Director for Orleans Hospice, and find my work there both rewarding and satisfying.

In my role of Development Director, I am responsible for building a community of support around the mission of Hospice of Orleans. I bring fourteen years fundraising, as well as “friend raising” experience to Hospice. As a Director of Donor Relations for other organizations, I’ve been actively involved in all aspects of development, and took pride in building relationships which helped to ensure their success. It is now my pleasure to do the same for the extraordinary services provided by the staff and volunteers of Hospice of Orleans.

I am the Spiritual Care Giver for Hospice of Orleans. My role is to ask people how is it with their soul and to informally share in conversation with people about death and dying. I am the caring person who sometimes ponders the spiritual questions of life and moving out of this life. I encourage people to keep the faith and I pray daily for the families and clergy during this part of the journey of life. I am here especially for people who have no church or support during this time.

I truly enjoy the one-on-one caring of Hospice patients.

My job is to establish a relationship between Hospice of Orleans and the medical community in and around our county. I provide information on how our services could benefit their patients who are facing the challenges of a terminal illness. I have been a registered nurse for over 30 years in a variety of medical settings which is beneficial in helping me to spread the word about Hospice services available here in Orleans County. It is my hope that through the information provided, Hospice will be better able to serve the needs of the people of Orleans County as we work to enhance the comfort and quality of life for patients and families experiencing the impact of serious illness and loss.
