Kellie Spychalski | Chief Executive Officer

Kellie brings a unique and abundant skill set to the Hospice of Orleans team which has been acquired from 30 years of experience in the health and human services field. Kellie has held positions ranging from direct hands-on care to development and volunteer coordination, as well as corporate compliance, quality assurance, Assistant Executive Director and Executive Director.  Kellie holds an AAS in Human Services, BS in Organizational Management and MS in Health Care Administration.  Having seen first-hand the positive impact Hospice can have during the most challenging times, Kellie works closely with the Board and staff to ensure excellence in patient care.  She actively seeks to expand and enrich services that enhance quality of life for our patients as well as their families. 

Joel L. Allen | Chief Operating Officer

Joel brought a wealth of financial and organizational management experience to his position when he became Hospice of Orleans' Finance Director in December 2010. Joel has been active in numerous non-profit organizations over the years.

Thomas Madejski, MD | Medical Director 

As the Medical Director of Hospice of Orleans, Dr. Madejski is responsible for the oversight of the medical care for patients admitted to hospice. He can also act as a liaison and/or consultant for the patients' Primary MD, and is available to make home visits when necessary if a patient's own doctor is unable to do so. Dr. Madejski finds his work as the Medical Director for Orleans' Hospice both rewarding and satisfying.  

Brittany Dix | Development Manager

Brittany has found her way home after commuting several years to Hospice Buffalo. She is responsible for speaking engagements and the “friendraising” aspect of Hospice. Brittany is thrilled to serve alongside such caring professionals and invites others to learn more about the mission of our wonderful organization! Sherri Bryant, RN | Clinical Manager

Sherri is responsible for the development and enhancement of the referral and admissions process, through outreach and education to other professionals.

Michelle Toenniessen, LPN | Family Care Coordinator

Michelle is responsible for the coordination of the Nursing and HHA care provided in the Martin-Linsin Residence.  She ensures that the care is of the highest quality and is provided in the most efficient and caring manner.

Dawn Hungerford | Primary Hospice Registered Nurse

As a Hospice RN, Dawn provides nursing assessment visits to manage the patient’s symptoms and coordinate medical services such as HHA and physician visits the patient and family may need.  She also oversees and participates in on call, after hours nursing visits. 

Christine Fancher, BSW | Social Worker & Volunteer Coordinator 

Christine is the Hospice of Orleans Social Worker. As part of our team she helps with the emotional, social & financial issues of our patients and their families. She is also our Volunteer Coordinator who recruits and schedules volunteers when they are needed for family assistance or special events. Christine has worked with Hospice since its inception; even as a volunteer before we were certified and considers it an honor and privilege to work with hospice families.

Ann Hubner, LMSW l Social Worker

Ann assists Hospice and Palliative Care patients and families in meeting their goals. Ann brings 27 years of social work experience and has helped people throughout Western New York from birth throughout their lifespan. She considers working with the Hospice of Orleans community, staff and volunteers, an honor and privilege.

Leslie Allen l Social Worker

Leslie comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience and assists our Transitions patients and family members with their needs.

Sister Dolores O'Dowd & Pastor Linda Haight| Spiritual Care Providers & Bereavement Coordinators

Since 1971, Sister Dolores has resided in upstate New York and has served the spiritual needs of our community. Sister Dolores works as part of the spiritual care team and helps and guides patients and families during a difficult time in their lives.

Pastor Linda is pastor of the South Byron and Stafford United Methodist congregrations on a part-time basis, while also preparing for full ordination through Northeastern Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester. Pastor Linda reports that she is "very excited" about ministering to Hospice patients and families and "really feels led by God to do this."

They both work with Hospice families or community folks who are having problems or need help coping with loss. Hospice offers bereavement counseling for thirteen months after a loss or as long as needed.

Flo Johnston & Brenda Knapp | HHA's

Our HHA's provide competent and loving care to our In-Home patients and we are grateful for their expertise and experience.

Patty Leight  | Administrative Assistant

Patty is responsible for all of the administrative and management operations of the Hospice Office.  

Terri Jordan | Accounts Receivable / Clinical Assistant 

Terri is responsible for assisting with the administrative operations of the Hospice, including but not limited to managing AP/AR for non-patient related income and expense.  Terri is also responsible for ensuring all patient claims are submitted promptly and maintains financial tracking for all patient related expenses.
