2011 Spring Floral Bouquet Sale

The Hospice Annual Bouquet Sale was a huge success raising over $7,000! Thank you to everyone who bought a spring bouquet! Your support is greatly appreciated! A special thanks to all of the organizations and businesses that ordered pre-sales and sold buckets, and of course to our volunteers that made endless delivery trips and sold on location at the Hospitals, Arnold Gregory and Save-A-Lot! Thank you again! |
2010 Annual Ducks Ahoy Race

The Hospice of Orleans 12th Annual Duck Race was held on July 3rd in Lyndonville and raised $6,700. More than 1,600 ducks floated down the creek awarding $1,500 in cash prizes to the four fastest and the four slowest ducks. Ontario Shores FCU donated their $500 prize money and Mizkan Americas donated back their $150 prize money. Congratulations go the remaining duck ticket winners: Logan Graham, $300, Stew Walck, $200, Patrick Kwiatkowski, $125, Loretta Smith, $100, mandy Sweat, $75 and Genevieve Davis, $50. Sincere thanks to all who supported this event and to those winners who donated all or a portion of their winnings back to Hospice. Special thank you to the Village of Lyndonville and the Lyndonville Lions Club for their hospitality. We would also like to thank Sigma International for sponsoring this event. |
2010 Annual Hospice of Orleans Golf Scramble

July 28th, 2010, marked the 14th annual Hospice of Orleans Golf Scramble. Held at Hickory Ridge Golf Course, this event is one of the best attended fund-raising events in the area. The golf tournament raised over $12,500 for Hospice of Orleans. Congratulations to all our golfers for helping Hospice help those who need us in Orleans County. The tournament winners were AJ Corrigan, Randy Hazen, Jr., Jeff Martin and Bryan Vagg (captain). Start planning your foursome for next year's event! The 15th annual Hospice of Orleans Golf Scramble will be at Hickory Ridge Golf Course on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. |

The Yard Sale was a huge success! All proceeds, which totaled over $3,000 will benefit the community served by Hospice. A special thank you to local artist, Diana Martin (pictured below) who offered her time and talent to draw caricatures and donate those proceeds to Hospice. |

GROUNDBREAKING
We are proud to announce that we had a groundbreaking ceremony for the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence on November 18th.
This residence will be located on existing property on Route 31, Albion the 8,500 square foot facility will feature eight residential patient suites, each designed to accommodate visitors and allow family members to stay overnight. In addition to a family kitchen, lounge and dining room, there will be a spa area with therapy tub, meeting rooms for intimate visits, a Chapel and an indoor Courtyard/Atrium to enjoy the winter sun and warmth.
The total cost of the project is $2.2m and with the generous support of board members, staff, volunteers and a few close friends already over 93% has been committed.
The completion date is Spring/Summer 2012.

Albion NY: Hospice has recently bid farewell to several longtime board members and supporters. Wilma Bentley and Ellie Whipple from Lyndonville and Sandy Hare from Kent each served a maximum ten year period and Ron Holbrook of Medina resigned to move to a warmer region of the USA. Each has served with extraordinary dedication, energy and devotion and in their own unique way contributed to sub committees, special events and especially fund raising.
“Team work is the secret to success in life and these wonderful people have contributed so much to our team” stated Cora Goyette, Development Director. “It has been an honor to work with them”. Thank You!






Hospice of Orleans Light A Life Tree offers a way to remember a special someone who is no longer with us during the holiday season. The 2010 Tree Lighting ceremony was held on December 4th on the front lawn of Hospice grounds.
